Attention: House Buyers of America

RE: Real Estate Acquisition Manager

Dear Hiring Leader,

I am very interested in your open RE Acquisition position. LinkedIn didn’t allow for a cover letter, so I had to get creative so I could effectively introduce myself to you.

I presently own two small businesses in residential real estate development and construction. You’ll see from my resume that my career background has been in sales and client management, operations leadership, and service delivery.

After 10 years as an entrepreneur, I am ready to re-enter the workforce. The construction industry has changed drastically. And I’m looking to breathe new life into the next phase of my career. Your position is of particular interest to me. And I believe we could be a good fit for each other. Here’s why:

1) I believe in your model and value proposition. Over the past 10 years I have bought and sold many homes as a builder and real estate developer. The buying and selling process can be very stressful. Your model makes the process easier, faster, and more predictable, creating a hugely smoother process for clients. I understand firsthand the buyer and seller’s pain points and can effectively translate that experience into sympathy, engagement, and closings.

2) I have extensive experience valuing properties, estimating repairs, and conducting due diligence. As a builder and remodeler, I have conducted many evaluations of prospective projects, from lots to remodels to flips. I am adept at quickly assessing a project’s needs to determine feasibility and value for a successful outcome.

3) I have broad-based sales/client services/leadership skills that lend themselves to this position. You’ll see from my resume that I had tremendous success in B2B sales while at American Express. As a builder, I’ve also had great success engaging prospective clients and converting those engagements to sales. I’ve been able to be successful in both B2B and B2C because, whether an individual or an organization, sales rely on one’s ability to identify problems, build relationships, think strategically, pay attention to details, and direct the narrative, all skills I’ve refined over the course of my career through the diverse roles I’ve been privileged to hold.

4) This is a remote position with client facing responsibility. I have worked in a similar capacity for 20 years, managing both client relationships and employees from a remote location. I’m able to build relationships through multiple channels and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. I’m independent, self-motivated, and goal oriented. I love working with a team/others and am able to do so effectively, whether in person or remote.

I would love the opportunity to talk further with you about this position and how I would be of value to HBoA. I think it would be a fun role. I know I would be successful. And it’s the perfect transition to utilize my sales, business, client, and real estate skills.

NOTE: Please disregard the “hospitality is in our DNA” call-out text. This is a page on my website that I couldn’t re-format here. :-)

Thanks so much!
